Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 February 2026
By using the Discover Orthodoxy app or website, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
License
Discover Orthodoxy is free to download and use. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app or its content without our prior written consent.
User content
Notes you write and questions you submit through the app remain your own. By submitting a question, you grant us permission to share it (and any response) with course organisers and, where appropriate, other course participants. We will never publicly share your questions outside the course context without your explicit consent.
Acceptable use
We expect all users to engage respectfully with the app and its community. You agree not to:
- Submit content that is abusive, hateful, or deliberately misleading.
- Misrepresent yourself or impersonate another person.
- Attempt to interfere with the app's infrastructure or security.
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
Course access
Access to catechism course features requires a course code issued by your course organiser. Course codes may be revoked at any time by the organiser. Revocation of a course code does not affect your access to the app's free content.
Intellectual property
The Discover Orthodoxy name, logo, design, and original content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Orthodox liturgical texts, prayers, and Scripture readings included in the app are drawn from public-domain sources or used with permission. Where specific attributions are required, they are provided within the app.
Limitation of liability
The app and its content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
